
A 35-year-old man who was internationally wanted has been arrested by Tirana Police.
It is learned that the 35-year-old was arrested on behalf of the Italian authorities, after being accused of being a member of a criminal drug trafficking organization.
The Criminal Court of Perugia, Italy, has assigned the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Criminal organization" and "Drug trafficking".
Albanian authorities are working to extradite the 35-year-old to the neighboring country.
"Tirana/The police operation codenamed "Perugia" is finalized."
Accused in Italy of being a member of a criminal organization that trafficked narcotics, the 35-year-old is captured in Tirana and arrested for extradition purposes.
The services of the Special Forces Sector "Eagle", in cooperation with those of the Narcotics Investigation Section, based on information exchanged with Interpol Tirana, regarding the location of an internationally wanted citizen, have located on "Dritan Hoxha" Street and have provisionally arrested, with the aim of extradition to Italy, the citizen:
-AS, 35 years old, resident of Tirana.
This citizen was declared internationally wanted, after the Criminal Court of Perugia, Italy, assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses of "Criminal organization" and "Drug trafficking".
"Interpol Tirana continues procedural actions, in cooperation with Interpol Rome, for the extradition of this citizen to Italy," the police announced.
