Two and a half months after the suicide of 25-year-old Xhuana Nikollaj in Tirana, the event continues to remain shrouded in mystery, while new details come to light that have prompted the Police Supervision Agency to launch investigations into Police Station No. 2.
According to "A2 CNN", it is reported that for two weeks, AMP has been verifying the investigative actions carried out by the officers who were involved in solving the case, as it is suspected that there may have been negligence in the handling of the case.
The 25-year-old's ex-husband, Eraldo Fizi, remains at the center of the investigation, wanted for the criminal offense of "Causing suicide." However, it is suspected that other people may have knowledge or a role in the circumstances that led to the tragic event.
According to Xhuana's family, her phone has not yet been fully examined by investigators, while her roommate's phone has not been seized. It turns out that the friend only gave a statement at the hospital and was not questioned again.
Relatives claim that the 25-year-old's friend constantly insisted that she meet with Eraldo Fizi, calling him whenever Xhuana was with her sisters.
Another element that has raised suspicions is related to the search of the apartment after the incident. Initially, the police stated that they had not found phosphoxin in the apartment, but two days later the family said they discovered the substance near Xhuana's personal belongings and notified the authorities again.
The question that is being raised is how this evidence was not found during the first police search.
According to the autopsy, signs of violence were found on the 25-year-old's body, which family members claim are also visible in the photos they have.
After investigations, it was revealed that on the night of the incident, Eraldo Fizi had taken Xhuana and taken her to Shëngjin, where she was allegedly raped in a vehicle. It is suspected that her friend was also aware of this.
After returning to Tirana, Fizi's vehicle was fined at around 03:00 near the former "Eagle" square for speeding. He then allegedly left Xhuana in the apartment where he was living, while the next day the young woman committed the extreme act of self-sacrifice.
Eraldo Fizi remains on the run, while several police attempts to arrest him have failed.
