The Department of Crimes Against Property in the Subdirectorate of Prosecution of Crimes Against Life and Property at the Directorate of Security of Athens, has discovered the activity of a criminal group, whose members systematically committed robberies and thefts in shops and apartments in areas of the center of Athens.

As part of this investigation, 3 people, 30, 39 and 60 years old, were arrested, including an Albanian citizen. Plumb Cara alias Plumb Rusi, 39 years old from Sukthi i Durrës, Yasin Badawi 30 years old from Syria and Greek citizen Evstathios Borgidis 60 years old fell into the hands of the Greek police.

As it emerged from the investigation, the defendants, at least since November 2023, first committed armed robberies in shops and mini markets and then burglaries of shops and houses in different areas of Athens, such as Syntagma, Agios Panteleimonas, Kaisariani, Pagrati, Virona and Zografou, even targeting the same shops several times.

To achieve their goal they had taken handguns, choosing to carry out robberies in convenience stores owned by people of Asian origin, in which they did not hesitate to use violence, tying their victims with cables and leaving them immobile while they ran away.

A central role in their criminal activity was played by the 39-year-old Albanian Pllum Cara, who acted as a natural perpetrator during the robberies, and as a guide during the thefts. He was the one who selected the targets, received the information, coordinated and led the other members.

More specifically, in the robberies, the 39-year-old man, together with the 60-year-old man, pretending to be policemen, entered the minimarkets and blocked the employees at gunpoint and took money. In the thefts, the 30-year-old man broke the doors of the stores, entered them and removed money and other items, while the 39-year-old Albanian assisted and supervised the 30-year-old. In this case, the 60-year-old Greek was responsible for planning the objectives.

The termination of their action was achieved on Friday, September 6, 2024, when the police officers of the DI.AS team were notified. of the Directorate of Direct Action in Athens who arrested the 39-year-old Albanian and the 60-year-old Greek, while they had committed a theft in an apartment in Kypseli. In fact, in their attempt to escape, as they descended from the balcony to the balcony, the 39-year-old Albanian Plum Cara was injured falling from the height and is currently in the hospital.

In the area where the perpetrators were located, a number of burglary tools were found and seized, as well as a number of jewelry and other items, which were identified as stolen and attributed to the owner of the apartment.

Then it continued with the detention of the 30-year-old Syrian, where before he was arrested he tried to avoid police control, refusing to follow the orders of the police officers.

From the controls carried out in the apartments of the arrested, 2- metal air pistols, 3- plastic ones, replica pistols, metal spheres, hunting cartridges, gas bottles with air pistols, 2 pairs of handcuffs, 3 folding knives, boxes of crystal methamphetamine were found and seized. with a gross weight of 109 grams, precision electronic scales, event wear and mobile phones.

So far, 2 robberies and 19 thefts in shops and apartments in the center of Athens have been solved, while the investigations continue for the complete clarification of the criminal activity of the members of the criminal group.

Albanian citizen Plum Cara has a criminal record in Greece for theft, robbery, violation of the law on drugs and violation of the law on immigrants.
