SPAK has requested for the second time the suspension of the case for Selim Çekaj, the father of Arbë Çekaj.
Meanwhile, the court postponed the decision until December 27.
According to SPAK, the accusation of his involvement in drug trafficking is not proven. Judge Erion Bami has stated in today's session that he will make a decision after he gets acquainted with the court's decision for his son Arbër Çekaj, who was convicted of drug trafficking.
Selim Çekaj was arrested in October 2021 after 49 kg of cocaine were caught inside the containers of his company. He is currently without security measures.
Selim Çekaj is the father of Arbër Çekaj, who is sentenced to 14 years in prison after being caught with 613 kg of cocaine in the warehouses of his banana company 'Arbri Garden' in Maminas inside a container. Selim Çekaj was caught in the same scheme, where the police discovered 49 kg of cocaine hidden in the container where he was waiting for the bananas ordered with his company EcoalMax from Ecuador.
Selim Çekaj's container was under observation for 1 month and that the cocaine was divided into 31 packages placed on the side pillars of the container with bananas, unlike the amount of 613 kg of cocaine that was seized by the 72-year-old son, Arbër Çekaj, which had hidden on the floor of the banana container.
