A 48-year-old man was arrested by the Fier police with the intention of extradition to Italy.
The citizen Altin Stopani alias Erion Veliu from Fieri was sentenced to 9 years in prison in Italy after being accused of participating in a criminal organization, illegal possession of weapons, drug trafficking and exploitation for prostitution.

As a result of the information provided by the police intelligence and exchanged with the partners in Italy, regarding the location of an Albanian citizen, declared internationally wanted, on behalf of Italy, the Directorate of the Special Operational Force, during the coded police operation "Operational 14 ", caught in Fier and imprisoned the citizen Altin Stopani alias Erion Veliu, 48 years old, born in Fier.
In 2012, the judicial authorities in Italy have sentenced this citizen to 9 years of imprisonment, for participation in a criminal organization, possession of weapons without a permit, drug trafficking and exploitation for prostitution, according to the provisions of the Italian Criminal Code.
The cooperation between Interpol Tirana and Interpol Rome continues, to extradite this citizen to Italy", announced the police.
