A 39-year-old Albanian sentenced to over 5 years in prison has been arrested by British authorities, while he was wanted by Albanian law enforcement agencies.
This is about citizen Ervis Vrenozi, convicted by the Fier Court for illegal possession of weapons and production/sale of narcotics.
"As a result of the coordination of information and operational actions of the State Police structures, with counterparts in the United Kingdom, the police operation "Accusations" was finalized, for the capture of the Albanian citizen, internationally wanted, on behalf of Albania:
"-Ervis Vrenozi, 39 years old," the Police statement said.
In 2020, he was sentenced by the Fier Court to 5 years and 4 months in prison for the criminal offenses of "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Production and sale of narcotics".
Interpol Tirana is collaborating with Interpol Manchester to finalize the procedure for the extradition of the 39-year-old to Albania.
