Another serious episode with a criminal and electoral background has shaken the city of Elbasan, raising the alarm about the interference of criminal groups in the parliamentary elections.
Shkelzen Hasanpapa, a well-known figure in Elbasan's criminal circles, suspected in several cases of murders and rival eliminations, has been involved in a serious incident of violence against Avni Mema, the driver of the former Minister of Interior.
According to reliable sources, the incident took place a few days ago in Elbasan. Hasanpapa is suspected of personally committing the physical assault on Mema on the orders of criminal groups that are supporting the candidate for deputy Sara Mila. The cause of the violence is thought to be the fact that Avni Mema has refused to support the candidate Mila and has engaged in favor of her opponents within the party.
Avni Mema has been transported to the hospital in critical condition, where he is receiving medical attention for multiple bodily injuries. This event has caused a strong public reaction, adding to concerns about the brutal intervention of organized crime in the democratic process.
SPAK has immediately launched an investigation into the case, classifying it as an electoral crime, intimidation of voters and illegal interference in the elections. Sources from the prosecution say that SPAK is considering issuing an arrest warrant for Shkelzen Hasanpapa, while other people involved in the case will also be questioned.
