The show "Në Shënjestër" this evening addressed the assassination of Gentian Bejtja in Fushë Krujë, who was executed with a barrage of bullets near his apartment a few weeks ago.

But the most interesting testimony for the investigative group regarding the assassination is that of a foreign citizen living in Albania, who during the hour when the crime took place, was able to see suspicious masked persons on the street.
"During the investigation phase, testimonies of the victim's family members and eyewitnesses were administered. Among them the citizen J. L, born in Jordan and resident in Tirana, who, among other things, has stated that: 'On March 15, 2024, around 4:30 p.m., he was traveling from the Gjole bridge in the direction of the factory of 'Cimento' Fushë-Krujë following the route: Ura e Gjoles-North Park then the secondary road through the village of Hasan to take you to the gas station 'K....' on the main axis Fushë Krujë-Thumanë" , the file states.
It is on this road axis that he says he saw two cars stopped on the road. Among them, a black 'Golf', where what stood out was that this vehicle did not have a number plate on the back of it. While standing next to the vehicles, among them a four-wheel motorcycle, stood three people with black hoods on their heads. While two others were in the black 'Golf' vehicle.
"As soon as I crossed the intersection of the secondary road, on the way to take you to the gas station 'K….', in front of my vehicle I saw two four-wheelers, a black 'Golf' vehicle, model 5 or 6 type new, no license plate on the rear part as well as another gray vehicle, whose license plate I could not fix" , he stated.
Further in his testimony, the eyewitness showed that there were also three people standing in front of these vehicles, who were dressed in clothes not normal for everyday life. Which impressed him and gave him the opportunity to document as images. A scene that seemed to him more like a movie set than a thought that these people were here as characters in a criminal event that had happened only minutes earlier, not far from where he saw them.
"What I found further is that there were three people standing near these vehicles and motorcycles. While two others, the driver and the front passenger, were in the black 'Golf' type vehicle. What I could further distinguish is that the three people who were standing on the road near the motorbikes had the hoods of their sweatshirts on their heads and did not take them off for a moment. And they were standing almost next to the 'Golf' type vehicle and were talking to each other" , he stated.
In such conditions, the driver of the vehicle says that feeling scared, the first thought that came to his mind was to immediately leave the position where he had stopped with his car. He says that despite the fact that he moved from there, fear accompanied him even afterwards. At one point, the black 'Golf' type vehicle was rear-ended. Or so he had the feeling at that moment, that he was being followed.
"In this situation I felt scared and decided to pass the suspicious vehicles that had stopped on the road. But only after moving about 100 meters, before exiting the main road, I noticed the black 'Golf' type vehicle behind me, flashing its lights. And that he was asking me to open the way and pass forward. That was the last time I saw the black 'Golf' vehicle. After overtaking me, this vehicle increased its speed until the intersection of the main Fushë Krujë-Laç road and then turned right towards Fushë-Krujë", he adds.
It would be this evidence and the film footage provided on the route where the murderers of Gentjan Bejtja are thought to have moved, in the afternoon of March 15, 2024, where, in addition to the vehicle 'Land Rover Discovery', near the village where this car was burned, it was also seen moving a black 'Golf', which coincided with the one stated by the eyewitness, that led the investigative team to follow this vehicle. And the movements that this car had performed during this time interval.
Only a few days after the crime, the police surveillance groups were able to stop the owner of this vehicle, who, as we said, was Edison Haxhiu, who was escorted to the police while he was washing his car near a shopping center in Tirana. The same car is said to have been seen moving near the vehicle burned by the perpetrators, in the village of Hasan in Fushë-Kruja.
"Thanks to the special investigation methods, it was possible to arrest citizen Edison Haxhiu at around 21:20 on March 19, 2024. "Which at this moment was found in the premises of a car wash near a shopping center, while he was washing the black 'Wolsvagen Golf' brand vehicle with license plate AB 960 GG", the file states.
During the search in the apartment of Edison Haxhiu, but also of Ilir Beqaraj, who also bears the surnames Brahimi and Mançellari, the police were able to find an arsenal of weapons as well as a number of documents that were probably forged.
"During the control exercised in the apartment of citizen Ilir Beqaraj, who also bears the surnames Brahimi and Mançellari, in one of the luxury complexes in Tirana, they were found; A 'Walther' pistol with eight cartridges; a 'Benelli' shotgun; a belt of 29 rounds of firearms; 5 devices such as transceivers with the inscription 'Midland XT' 70, a passport issued by the Republic of Kosovo in the name of the BA citizen, suspected to be forged; an identity card of the Republic of Kosovo in the name of citizen B. A, suspected to be forged; 2 cellphones of the Iphone brand and one of the Samsung brand, etc., explained the police.
As for Ilir Beqaraj, the accusation of illegal possession of weapons and falsification of documents is serious, the accusation against Edison Haxhi, if proven, is even more serious. He is thought to have provided the conditions as well as the means to commit the murder of Gentjan Bejtja, on March 15, 2024, in the yard of the latter's apartment in the village of Larushk in Fushë-Kruje.
"The Judiciary recognized as legal the measure of 'prison arrest' against the citizen Ilir Beqaraj alias Brahimi alias Mançellari, arrested in the act on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of 'Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition', as well as 'Forgery of documents' as well as the legal validation of the detention against the citizen Edison Haxhiu, suspected of committing the criminal offense of 'Providing the conditions and material means to commit murder', and the determination of the measure of security 'Arrest in prison' towards him" , it was said in the Court's decision.
