A 42-year-old man was arrested after he planted a quantity of explosives in the house and shop of a 54-year-old man.
The police inform that Etmont Lalaj, 42 years old, a resident of Burrel, was previously convicted of several criminal offenses in the field of crimes against the person and property, and was currently serving the alternative punishment of 'Probation Service'.
"The police operation coded "Explosive" was successfully completed. Explosives were placed near the apartment and shop of a 54-year-old man. The police solved the incident in record time, identified and arrested the suspected perpetrator. The suspected perpetrator, a 42-year-old ( previously convicted of several criminal offences, and currently serving the alternative sentence 'Probation Service').
A rifle firearm, 87 cartridges, 4 hand grenades, 5 grenade starters, 4 meters of fire-conducting fuse, 2 license plates of a vehicle owned by another citizen and a mobile phone were seized.
The investigative structures of the Dibër Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the services of the Mat Police Station, following the work to clarify and document the event that happened at midnight in the "Drita" neighborhood, in the city of Burrel, based on the information provided from the information intelligence, have successfully organized and finalized the coded police operation "Explosive".
As a result of this operation, the citizen EL, 42 years old, resident of Burrel, previously convicted of several criminal offenses in the field of crimes against the person and property, and currently serving the alternative sentence of 'Probation service' was arrested.
From the investigative actions and evidence provided, it is suspected that the 42-year-old man, due to a previous conflict with the AC citizen, went near the latter's apartment, where he placed and detonated a small amount of explosives without causing damage.
Also, at the entrance gate of the AC citizen's store, another amount of explosive material was placed, and the explosion caused minor material damage.
As material evidence, a rifle firearm, 87 cartridges, 4 hand grenades, 5 grenade starters, 4 meters of fire-conducting fuse, 2 license plates of a vehicle owned by another citizen and a mobile device. This citizen is suspected of being the author of several previous events with explosives in Burrel, for which intensive investigations are continuing in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office to clarify and gather evidence, as well as the identification and capture of other co-authors involved in these events. The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of Dibër General Jurisdiction, for further action," the police announced.
