A serious event was recorded this afternoon in Korça, where a woman received multiple burns after her husband, with whom she is in the process of divorce, Bledar Trëndafili, doused her with gasoline and then set her on fire.
According to the police, the motive for this serious incident is suspected to be jealousy on the part of the author, even though the couple was in the process of divorce.
It is learned that the 31-year-old woman did not have a protection order. It is expected that the testimonies of family members and relatives will clarify further if there were threats or other persecutions from the ex-husband.
31-year-old Melisa Trëndafili was returning home from work, when her ex-husband stopped her a few meters from the house, threw a bottle of gasoline on her body and then set her on fire.
Sources from the investigation group indicate that the author was standing when he burned his ex-wife, while he ran away after setting her on fire.
