An organized drug trafficking network has been hit by Italian authorities in the city of Arezzo, where five security measures have been executed against people suspected of involvement in criminal activity. Among those arrested are two Albanian citizens and three Italians, who are suspected of having different roles within the organization.
According to the investigation, the group was led by an Albanian citizen, while the other members were involved in the distribution and preparation of narcotics. The structure of the network appears to be well-organized, with daily drug distribution in different areas of the province.
The operation, codenamed "Minerva", took place on April 18 by order of the Court of Arezzo, following an investigation launched in August 2025. Authorities used telephone and environmental intercepts, as well as field surveillance to document the group's activity.
According to the police, the organization had set up a stable system for trafficking cocaine, hashish and marijuana. "Sales were carried out every day, often with delivery to apartments through various vehicles," the investigative file states, showing how the network operated.
During the operation, significant quantities of drugs were seized, including 750 grams of cocaine, 500 grams of hashish and 1 kilogram of marijuana, as well as money suspected to be proceeds of criminal activity. Also found were tools for packaging doses and telephones used for communication.
