The police have arrested 30-year-old Fatbardh Ismaili, who is wanted for the attempted murder of former SP deputy, Armando Prenga.
In May 2023, the 30-year-old shot a firearm at Armando Prenga, the former socialist deputy, this incident occurred during the counting of votes in May last year.
"In implementation of the plan of measures drawn up within the nationwide operation "Rule of Law" for the capture of wanted persons, by the services of the Kurbin Police Station in cooperation with the National Security Forces (FKS) based on the information provided by police intelligence on the location in the village of Gurëz, administrative unit Fushe Kuqe, Kurbin, of a wanted person, operational work was organized where as a result the 30-year-old FI citizen, resident in Fushe Kuqe, Kurbin, was caught and detained.
The 30-year-old man was declared a national wanted man after the Court of First Instance of Lezhë, with a criminal decision dated 25.05.2023, assigned to him the security measure of "imprisonment" for the criminal offenses of "Intentional murder" and "Detention" without permission and the production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition," the police announced.
How did the assassination of Armando Prenga happen?
On May 17, 2023, former socialist deputy Armando Prenga escaped an assassination attempt with a gun on the Laç-Patok axis. It was Prenga himself who notified the police and reported that he was shot three times with a pistol while driving by another moving vehicle.
The event is suspected to have originated the day before (May 16, 2023) in a conflict during the counting of votes in KZAZ 15 Kurbin, where observers clashed, among whom was the father of the author, Islam Ismaili, as an observer of 'Bashke Fitomje', but lawyer by profession.
The quarrel in KZAZ started over two contested votes until a physical clash between Armando Prenga's brother, Arben Prenga and Islam Ismail, involving other party representatives. Lawyer Ismaili reported to the police that Prenga and the SP commissioners hit him with fists and were separated by the police, who did not accompany any of the people involved in the conflict. Event filmed by KZAZ cameras. According to the testimony given by Islam Ismaili, he was threatened while he was drinking coffee not to engage in campaigning because there will be consequences.
