Other details have been revealed by the arrest of the customs officer of Kakavija and the physical control customs officer by AMP after accusations of corruption and abuse of office.
It is reported that 4 other citizens, drivers of vehicles and possessors of imported goods were arrested in the act as suspects for committing the criminal offense "Smuggling with other goods".
The structures of the Police Supervision Agency have stopped 4 heavy tonnage trucks, a trailer with a trailer and a van loaded with various goods, not equipped with the relevant documentation for imported goods, on the road axis Kakavijë - Fier, for the purpose of verification of documents, which were provided by the employees of the Kakavije Customs Branch.
The arrested are 40, 48, 41, 45, 50 and 39 years old.
Also, it is reported that another was processed in a free state.
AMP seized several tens of tons of undeclared goods, mobile devices and monetary values.
The police are continuing the investigations for the complete disclosure of corruption in order to identify other persons involved in this activity.
"After the verification carried out, the Judicial Police of AMP, in cooperation with the Sector against Economic and Financial Crime in DVP Gjirokastër, in implementation of the order of the Prosecutor's Office, have arrested in flagrante delicto as a suspect for committing the criminal offense "Smuggling by employees related to customs activity";
- Customs officer, responsible for the shift at the Kakavija Customs Branch
- Physical customs officer at the Kakavija Customs Branch;
- The announcement was made in search of the citizen with the duty of Parking Customs Officer, as well as 3 Anti-Smuggling employees, with service near the Kakavijë Border Crossing Point.
Also, citizens (drivers of vehicles and possessors of imported goods) were arrested in flagrante delicto, as suspects for committing the criminal offense of "Smuggling with other goods";

Several tens of tons of undeclared goods, mobile telephones, monetary values, etc. were seized as material evidence.
The performance of procedural investigative actions continues, for the inventory of seized goods, the examination of mobile telephones, the film footage recorded by the cameras installed at this customs point, with the aim of identifying other persons involved in this activity, focusing on employees of the Border Police and defining the role of each of them.
The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office of the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction Gjirokastër for the criminal offense of "Smuggling by employees related to customs activity" and "Smuggling with other goods", reported AMP.
