A 51-year-old man has been arrested by Mirdita police after being caught red-handed tending to 22 cannabis plants.
The plants were found during a search of the territory, in the village of Bisakë, and were destroyed by burning, except for a portion that was seized as material evidence.
"During the operation, a 51-year-old man was caught red-handed, taking care of the narcotic plants he had cultivated on a plot in the village of Bisakë. The services of the Mirdita Police Commissariat, as a result of controls within the framework of the 'Coordination' operational plan, struck a case of cultivation of narcotic plants.
During the search of the territory, in the village of Bisakë, Mirditë administrative unit, a plot with 22 suspected narcotic plants, of the cannabis sativa variety, was discovered.
The suspected perpetrator, citizen Gj. P., 51 years old, resident of the village of Bisakë, Mirditë, was caught red-handed taking care of narcotic plants.
The narcotic plants were destroyed by burning, while some of them were seized as material evidence.
"The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action, while the "Coordination" operation continues intensively throughout the country, with the aim of cracking down on every case of cannabis cultivation," the Police announced.
