Italy has extradited to Germany a 34-year-old Albanian wanted for drug trafficking in several German cities.
Italian media write that the carabinieri of Savignano sul Rubicone, in cooperation with the International Police Cooperation Service of Rome, extradited the Albanian to Berlin.
He is accused of being responsible for drug trafficking, carried out between the spring and summer of 2023 in Solingen and beyond. In June 2025, a European arrest warrant was issued by the competent German judicial authority.
The Carabinieri of the Forlì-Cesena Investigative Unit, in close collaboration with their German colleagues who had reported his possible presence in the province, found him in an apartment in Savignano sul Rubicone.
Last December, the carabinieri tracked him down, arrested him and took him to the prison in Forlì, where he was made available to the competent Italian and German judicial authorities.
"Following the extradition procedures and in accordance with the orders issued by the Court of Appeal of Bologna, the Carabinieri of Savignano accompanied the 34-year-old, who during the extradition procedures was obliged to sign every day at the Carabinieri headquarters in Savignano sul Rubicone, to the Malpensa Air Border Point in Milan to be handed over to the German police authorities," Italian media reports.
