The Director General of the State Police, Skender Hita, held a meeting with the staff of the Kruja Police Station, following the inauguration of the new premises.
Kruja is considered one of the most problematic areas in the country, known for assassinations, crimes and drug-related activity, where according to sources a large contingent of the criminal world lives. In this context, the presence of the Police Chief in this area is seen as a signal of increased pressure on criminality.
During the meeting with the officers, Hita requested from local structures increased professionalism in providing information, with a focus on preventing and cracking down on the cultivation of narcotic plants.
"We are now in the initial phase of the cannabis cultivation season, where control groups must be more engaged, everyone must receive quality police information to crack down on this activity. Make maximum efforts so that we have a year without cultivation," said Hita.
He also stressed the need to identify the financiers and traffickers of cannabis, as well as to apprehend wanted individuals. In this context, he also focused on a wanted individual who, according to him, continues to elude the police, although weapons were found during searches in his apartment.
The Police Director also emphasized the importance of combating illegal possession of weapons and environmental crimes. He also called for an immediate response to any concerns of citizens, regardless of their importance.
Hita also demanded increased performance from the officers, emphasizing that the new working conditions require a higher standard of service for citizens.
At the end of the meeting, the Director General requested from the Traffic Police rigorous implementation of duties and use of technology to identify violations.
