The 11th phase of the "Image" mega-operation is finalized. Controls in deep and difficult mountainous areas, with police forces and drones.
694 cannabis sativa narcotic plants that were found cultivated on the ground in different villages of Lezhë and Kurbin districts are destroyed by burning.
Special police teams, equipped with drones, have continued intensive checks on the ground and from the air, with priority in the deep mountainous areas with risk in terms of the cultivation of narcotic plants, in implementation of the nationwide operational plan, with a focus on prevention, detection and the crackdown on this criminal activity.
From these controls, the 11th phase of the police mega-operation coded "Imazhi" was finalized, as a result of which: in the village of Vinjoll, Kurbin, 456 narcotic cannabis sativa plants were found cultivated on the ground, in the village of Fushë Milot, Kurbin, 171 cannabis sativa narcotic plants were found cultivated on land, in a wooded area, while in Dajç village, Lezhë, 67 cannabis sativa narcotic plants were found cultivated on a public property. The narcotic plants were destroyed by burning, while a small part of them was seized as material evidence.
The Police of Lezha, in cooperation with the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Lezha, continues the investigative actions, with the aim of identifying and arresting the author(s) of this criminal activity.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action.
During the previous ten phases of this mega-operation, in different areas of Lezhë district, a total of 15,379 cannabis sativa narcotic plants were destroyed.
