New details have emerged from the operation conducted by the Special Prosecution Office (SPAK) in the "Cold Water" area in Vlora, which aims to crack down on a criminal group linked to Inez Hajrulla, considered by investigators to be a follower of Edison Harizaj.
It is reported that during the checks carried out by RENEA and FNSH forces in several apartments in Vlora, cartridges and a large number of mobile phones were seized, which are suspected to be used for further investigations.
As part of this operation, SPAK has issued arrest warrants for Inez Hajrulla and his close associate, Ervis Matodoshaj. However, so far the two have not been arrested.
According to SPAK, based not only on communications decoded by the encrypted platform Sky ECC, but also on evidence collected during the investigation, Hajrulla and Matodoshaj are suspected of having organized and carried out the murder of Gentian Qarri in February 2021 in Vlora.
Meanwhile, Flodian Plaku, who has been charged with international cocaine trafficking, is also included in this case. Plaku is currently in high-security detention and is being tried for the murder of Gentjan Bejtja.
In total, arrest warrants have been issued for four other people. One of them was already in custody and has been charged, two were arrested in Italy, while another was detained in Ioannina, Greece.
Inez Hajrulla is considered by the police to be a high-profile criminal. He has also escaped two assassination attempts in the past, one in 2017 and another in 2019.
