GJKKO has left in prison the former director of ARRSH, Evis Berberi, and the two businessmen arrested two days ago, Valter Begaj and Ervis Lami, on charges of passive corruption and money laundering.
His lawyer claimed that this is a legal-civil process but that it has turned into a criminal process. According to him, Berberi has not benefited unfairly from any tender.
The head of the Albanian Road Authority, Evis Berberi, was arrested three days ago by order of the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, a few hours after he left the office, as accusations of money laundering and corruption were brought against him. Meanwhile, a few days ago SPAK and BKH agents raided his apartment, where they seized a number of personal items such as mobile phones, laptops and documents.
We remind you that Evis Berberi is one of the close leaders of the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku.
Berberi was appointed head of ARRSH in June 2021, where he replaced Ergys Vjerdhon in this position, the latter also under investigation by SPAK for suspicions of being involved in corrupt affairs.
