The Criminal Court of Kosovo has upheld the house arrest measure for lawyer Bardhi Koçi, who is accused of exercising illegal influence.
During the security measure evaluation session, Koçi is reported to have stated that the search of his apartment, where no compromising items were found, was illegal, as it was carried out without a court order.
"You have to prove the fact that which judge or prosecutor could have been corrupted with 1,000 euros. Who is corrupted with that much money?", the lawyer is reported to have stated in the court session.
According to SPAK, the lawyer, referring to telephone conversations between him and citizen Pranvera Meshi, has been identified as the person who requested money to influence the decision-making of justice officials regarding the case under investigation by Pranvera Meshi.
According to the investigative file, it turns out that he requested and received a preliminary sum of 1,000 euros with the aim of influencing the decision-making of the justice bodies and specifically the judge in the case. After the court hearing, the suspect Bardhi Koçi communicated with the suspect Pranvera Meshi and requested the amount of money, which was then sent by her via Western Union.
But the data obtained from telephone and environmental wiretaps or observations conducted by the judicial police do not prove that he communicated with judicial officials before the hearing or discussed possible communications he had with judicial officials.
