Elmilind Dyli, one of the perpetrators of the Velipoja massacre in 2021, where 4 people were killed after a fight over sunbeds, has been arrested in Italy. The news was reported a day ago by the Italian media, while today it is officially confirmed by the State Police.
Dyli was wanted internationally for murder and illegal possession of weapons, while the extradition procedures to Tirana will also begin. Elmilind Dyli was injured in that massacre and is accused of being one of the perpetrators. At that time Dyli was 17 years old.
The Italian authorities executed the arrest warrant on June 9. Dyli was hiding in the Rimini area of Italy while living there with other family members. The Italian authorities have given the measure of temporary arrest until the extradition to our country is carried out.
The Velipoja massacre
Four people were killed and two others were injured after a gun conflict that took place at 00:30 on June 27, 2021 in front of the Gocajt hotel. The cause of the armed conflict was the division of ownership over the sandy areas where the sunbeds are placed. Elmidin Dyli was 17 years old when the massacre happened.

Musaen Zeneli, 20 years old waiter.
Edmond Gocaj, 38 years old
Xhovani Gocaj, 25 years old
The Gocajs are brothers, the sons of the owner of the Gocaj hotel in front of which the massacre took place

Elmidin Dyli, 17 years old,
Hasan Ferracaku, 54 years old, brother of Kujtim Verracaku.
