The Tirana court has changed the security measure from "arrest in prison" to temporary admission to a psychiatric hospital for Jetnor Zhaboli.
35-year-old Jetnor Zhaboli "hid" his mother, wife and minor children inside the house in Selitë and monitored them with cameras when they went out of the house.
The decision came after the presentation of medical expertise which determined that he was irresponsible at the time of the actions.
He was arrested after neighbors denounced him for illegal deprivation of liberty, as he had installed surveillance cameras in the apartment to control family members.
This lifestyle had caused stress to his wife who had attempted suicide. In the apartment, the police found two letters that the woman had written to her family, saying goodbye and asking for forgiveness.
The violence was also experienced by his mother who was powerless to oppose her son and protect her daughter-in-law and grandchildren.
