
Kruja Police have finalized an operation as part of the crackdown on illegal weapons possession.
During searches at a private entity in the village of Bubq, uniformed officers discovered a rifle firearm and another non-functional weapon, suspected to be war relics.
68-year-old Naim Kallaku, who was carrying weapons on his business premises, ended up in handcuffs.
"1 citizen has been arrested, weapons were found on his person.
Following the checks carried out by the services of the Krujë Police Commissariat, based on proactive investigations and police intelligence work, with the objective of cracking down on cases of illegal possession of weapons, it was found that citizen NK, 68 years old, was carrying 1 rifle firearm in his subject, in the village of Bubq. In the premises of this subject, 1 non-functional weapon, suspected to be from the time of the Second World War, was also found.
At the conclusion of the procedural actions, citizen NK was arrested, and the 2 weapons were seized as material evidence.
"The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action ," the police announced.
