A serious incident that shocked public opinion a few months ago has taken a new turn. A 49-year-old Palestinian man, accused of the macabre murder of his daughter in an apartment on "Gjon Muzaka" Street in Tirana, has been arrested in Lebanon, with the aim of extradition to Albania.
The crime occurred about two months ago, when his daughter was found dead in the apartment where he lived, allegedly stabbed to death with a cutting tool. Immediately after the incident, the perpetrator fled Albania, being declared an international wanted person.
Thanks to extensive investigations carried out by the Tirana Police structures, in cooperation with Interpol Tirana and the corresponding authorities in Lebanon, it was possible to locate and capture the suspect, identified as FA, 49 years old. He has been detained by the Lebanese authorities and procedures are underway for his extradition to Albania.
Against this citizen, the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Tirana has imposed the security measure "prison arrest" for the criminal offense of "murder due to family relations".
His arrest in Lebanon marks an important step in uncovering and punishing a crime that has touched the sensitivities of public opinion and has once again highlighted the challenges associated with domestic violence.
"Accused of killing his daughter with a cutting tool about 2 months ago, in an apartment on "Gjon Muzaka" Street, the 49-year-old Palestinian is arrested in Lebanon, with the aim of extradition to Albania.
Following in-depth investigations conducted by the structures of the Tirana Local Police Directorate, and as a result of continuous communication with the homologous structures in Lebanon, through Interpol Tirana and Interpol Beirut, the Palestinian citizen, FA, 49 years old, was arrested in Lebanon, with the aim of extradition to Albania.
The First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Tirana has assigned this citizen the security measure "Arrest in prison" for the criminal offense of "Murder due to family relations".
From the investigations so far, it is suspected that citizen FA, in February 2025, in an apartment on "Gjon Muzaka" Street, Tirana, killed his daughter, citizen RA, with a cutting tool.
"Cooperation between Interpol structures continues to finalize the procedure for the extradition of this citizen to Albania," the police announced.
