Four Albanians have fallen into the handcuffs of the Spanish police after being accused of robbery.
As part of the "Equilátero" operation developed by the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of Teruel in Spain, a criminal organization dedicated to committing violent robberies inside houses has been dismantled. Agents have arrested four people of Albanian origin, who had their operational center in the Tarragona city of Miami Playa, the starting point from which they covered a large area of national territory, the armed institute announced in a press release.
The arrested have used fictitious, usurped, or even dead identities, as well as some vehicles with bent or false license plates, to approach different cities, in order to avoid detection. After reaching the cities, they set up surveillance of potential targets to get inside the houses in the early hours of the night, using the climbing method, usually from the back, looking for balconies, patios or similar and using the windows.
They took counter-surveillance measures both to avoid police surveillance and at the time of the raid, using various electronic radio frequency detector devices. Once the premises were secured, they entered the interior of the house, regardless of whether the occupants were inside or not, in search of jewelry and money.
The disbanded criminal organization operated mainly on the axis of the A23 highway, affecting the regions of Teruel and Gúdar-Javalambre, Alto Palancia and Bajo Maestrazgo (CS) and Campo del Turia (V).
More than 80 robberies have been discovered in houses scattered in the provinces of Teruel, Zaragoza, Castellón, Valencia, Lérida, Tarragona, Granada and Málaga, with investigations still continuing to clarify more.
The relevant arrests were made in Miami Playa by UOPJ agents from the Teruel Command, with the support of the Rapid Action Group (GAR) of the Civil Guard and the ROCA team of Mora de Rubielos.
In the controls carried out between the cities of Mont-Roig Camp, Miami Playa and Tarragona, more than 8,000 euros in cash, stolen jewelry and jewelry materials used to control the quality of gold were found.
During the development of the "Equilátero" operation, the participation of the various investigative units of the Civil Guard of Teruel, Castellón and Tarragona, as well as the cooperation with the citizens, has been essential. The investigations have been directed all the time by the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Investigative Court No. 1 of Teruel, which ordered prison sentences for the four persons.
