The trial against 24 members of an Albanian criminal organization, nicknamed the "extractors", has started at the Palace of Justice in Brussels.
The accused were arrested in 2023 during a coordinated international operation between Belgium, Germany and Italy.
They are attributed with their participation in an extensive drug trafficking network, focused on the distribution of large quantities of narcotics throughout Europe.
The case has created expectations due to the importance of the organization, described as one of the most active Albanian organizations in drug trafficking.
