He locked his wife in the apartment and raped her, the Court of Appeal leaves

The Court of Appeal of Tirana has rejected the request for freedom of 34-year-old Asqeri Mandri, who was arrested for having installed cameras in his apartment in Kodër-Kamëz to monitor his wife.

The decision of the first instance is valid from the Court of Appeal.

" The case on appeal was examined on the basis of the appeal made by the person under investigation with the initials A. M, who requested the change of the decision, regarding the measure of personal security from "arrest in prison" to that "obligation to appear in the judicial police". At the end of the trial, on 23.02.2024, the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction, composed of the panel with Judge Mr. Fuat Vjerdha, decided: Approval of decision no. 365 Act, dated 08.02.2024 of the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana. "- said in the announcement.

Asqeri Mandri admitted the arguments with his wife, but denied the violence against her. According to him, the quarrels started after the woman asked him to work as a night watchman. The conflicts between the couple with 4 children started immediately after the return of the 34-year-old from Germany, where he had immigrated for economic reasons.

Askeriu, after coming from Germany, had shown violent behavior towards his wife, who, apart from locking her in the house and guarding her with cameras, also abused her in front of the four girls.

It was the woman herself who reported the violence to the Police, while the incident took place in Kodër Institut in Tirana.
