A serious incident occurred yesterday afternoon on the island of Paxos in Greece, where a 4-year-old girl tragically lost her life in the swimming pool of a villa.
The little girl, the only daughter of an Albanian family that has lived and worked on the island for years, had gone out to play in the garden of her house around 3:00 PM.
At some point she escaped her mother's attention and disappeared. Only a short time later, about 150 meters from the family home, the girl was found in the swimming pool of a villa by her cook, who had arrived to start work.
The mother, father and grandfather of the 4-year-old Albanian girl requested and received a deadline to testify before the court. The prosecutor filed criminal charges against the girl's three relatives for exposing the minor to danger, as the mother, father and grandfather were at home and sleeping when the 4-year-old girl disappeared.
Relatives of the 4-year-old stated that she was playing in the hallway of the house and that her disappearance was something unexpected, happening within a few minutes.
Relatives, as soon as they realized the girl was missing, notified the police and began searching for her with neighbors and police officers, but without success.
The 4-year-old was found dead a short time later in the swimming pool of a villa a few meters from the house. Doctors at the Paxos Health Center tried to revive the minor but were unsuccessful.
