A highly sought Albanian man as part of two criminal organizations that had trafficked large amounts of drugs was arrested by police in Italy.
At least 15 people are part of the criminal file as defendants, 9 of whom are under house arrest, 3 with arrest warrants and 3 under house arrest.
Dozens of checks were carried out in Cagliari, Nuoro, Oristano, Sassari, Rome, Pisa, Biella, Vicenza and Porto Recanati, involving over 400 military personnel. These are the figures of Operation "Termine", carried out yesterday morning by the Cagliari command, which destroyed two criminal groups specialized in drug trafficking.
The attacks had begun years ago, as had the occasional attacks by the organizations.
The targets of the measures requested by the Anti-Mafia Directorate of the Cagliari District are Italians and foreigners, many of whom are already known to law enforcement. They face charges of criminal conspiracy with the aim of drug trafficking, possession and supply of drugs, as well as illegal possession and possession of firearms.
Among them is an Albanian man, arrested by the Carabinieri of the Macerata Investigative Unit in Porto Recanati, where he had been moved several months ago from northern Italy. He was placed in custody and is now in Montacuto, Italian media reports.
With yesterday's raid, the Carabinieri dismantled two criminal organizations based in Sardinia, linked to Albanian criminal circles operating in Tuscany and Veneto. The first group "was responsible for the supply of narcotics, especially cocaine and heroin, within the country and their distribution in Sardinia," the Carabinieri explained.
