Details from the first moments after the execution of Gjin Boriç in Vau i Dejës were revealed at the hearing.
A court hearing was held this Thursday at the GJKKO against businessman Pëllumb Gjoka, Behar Bajri and Edmond Preka. During the trial, two former patrol police officers from the Vau i Dejës Police Station also testified in connection with the murder of Gjin Ndoj Boriç in 2020.
Former officer Fran Gjoka stated before the court that, after finishing his shift and returning to the police station, he and his colleague noticed a vehicle and a person lying on the ground.
"I worked in the state police. In August 2020, I had no duties, I was on general patrol at the Vau i Dejës police station. When Gjin (Ndoji) Boriçi was killed, I remember it as an event. Around 05:30-06:00, I was going to the police station," he is quoted as having testified.
According to him, he and his colleague approached the scene and notified the investigation team, while the victim was a few meters away from the vehicle.
"We went to the scene with my colleague and found a vehicle and a person lying on their back. The person was 2-3 meters away from the brown vehicle. We notified the investigation team, they came and delivered the service at 06:00 in the morning.
"The patrol came and they did their duty. We just surrounded the scene of the incident. The victim was on his back, I couldn't recognize him. The vehicle was turned off and locked, there was no damage as far as I could see. I don't remember smoking at the scene of the incident," he added.
Another former police officer, Gëzim Demaj, also testified that he was on the third shift when he witnessed the incident near a gas station in Vau i Dejës.
"In 2020, I worked at the Vau Dejës police station, general patrol. I was on the third shift in August 2020, when Gjin Boriçi was killed. At 05:30, I got into a car with another person and a murder had occurred near a gas station.
"I only saw the stopped car and I told the driver, 'Keep the car, I'm going to the scene.' I notified the operations room, I notified the patrol, and the victim was 5 meters on the other side of the road," he said.
Demaj stated that he had found five shell casings at the scene and that he remained there until 08:30.
"When I went there, the car was turned off and a person was lying on the ground, dead. I stayed there until 08:30. I found 5 shell casings there and secured them there, that's the patrol's job. I saw it by chance myself, I didn't know that an incident had happened, I wasn't notified by the hall," he testified.
Businessman Pëllumb Gjoka is accused by SPAK of "Premeditated Murder" of Gjin Ndoj Boriçi, an event that occurred on August 9, 2020 in Shkodra, committed in collaboration with a structured criminal group.
SPAK also accuses Gjoka of providing the conditions for the murder of Kleant Musabelliu, Dorjan Duli and Ibrahim Lici, as well as of active corruption against justice officials and illegal possession of weapons.
According to the Special Prosecution, Pëllumb Gjoka collaborated with Behar Bajri and Edmond Preka in the murder of Gjin Boriç. Meanwhile, Behar Bajri is also accused of providing the conditions for the murder of Kleant Musabelliu, Dorian Duli and Ibrahim Lici.
The file also includes other names, including Astmer Bilali, accused of providing conditions for murder, as well as former police officers Ardit Hasanbegaj and Oltion Bistri, who face various charges of corruption, disclosure of secret acts, and money laundering.
