The drug trafficking gang in France led by Albanians is 'dismantled',

Five people were arrested in France while 134 kg of cocaine were seized by the Spanish police.

The investigation began after last February, Nice's customs service seized a vehicle carrying 77kg of cocaine, in which a couple living in Alicante, Spain, was traveling. The 41-year-old man and his 37-year-old partner were accused of drug importation and trafficking.

An Albanian criminal network is identified

From the investigations, several vehicles belonging to an Albanian criminal network were discovered, which made regular trips between Spain, Benelux, France and Italy to distribute large quantities of cocaine. Thus, the investigators were able to identify a base in Spain, from which the main leaders of the network operated.

The first blow

On August 15, investigators intercepted two vehicles on French territory as they had just crossed the Spanish border. Two men aged 23 and 48 and a 46-year-old woman, all from Albania, were arrested.

Police then discovered a safe in a car containing 57.6 kg of cocaine. One of the suspects explained that he carried out this transport in exchange for paying off a debt of 30,000 euros with an Albanian trafficker.
