As a result of research and the administration of police intelligence information, carried out following the national mega-operation coded "Rule of Law", with the objective of arresting the citizens declared wanted, the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes in cooperation with the force of Special Shqiponja of DVP Elbasan finalized the coded police operation "Deceit".
As part of the operation, the wanted citizen GB, 51 years old, resident in Elbasan, was arrested and detained, after the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime in Tirana, with the decision of 29.08.2024, ordered his detention, for the criminal offense "Active corruption of persons exercising public functions".
The arrest of this citizen was made after in April 2024, he cooperated with two employees of IMT Elbasan, for accepting bribes, in connection with a facility built without permission.
The materials were passed to the Special Prosecutor's Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime for further action," the police announced.
