Following the investigations into the sensational murders that shocked Durrës more than a decade ago, this Thursday, Petrit Qoli, the brother of Festim Qoli, was questioned at the Special Prosecution Office.

In his testimony before SPAK, he provided details about his brother's activities, the conflicts created around a gas station in Shkozet, as well as his relationship with the Deda family, centered on the murders of Elvis Deda in 2012 and his mother, Fatmira Deda, a year later.

According to the prosecution, clashes over financial interests and a conflict over a fuel station in Shkozet were the cause of the serious crimes.

Petrit Qoli's testimony in SPAK:

-Are you aware of any problems with justice that Festimi may have had?

Petrit Qoli: I didn't deal with his problems. Festimi was rumored to have fired Titin, and some others. He liked to be known for these things. He was accused of Loshi, of Fatmira Deda's son. But he didn't do it.

-Who is this Loshi, Fatmira's son?

Petrit Qoli: He used to come to my ship, get oil. Loshi is done for mercy. I don't regret it at all. I heard it on TV. I have met Fatmira 3 times in my life. I know Besnik Deda, Fatmira's brother, a legend of ship captains. I went to him for a cup of coffee for consolation. I have met Fatmira three times in total. I met her once at the gas station in Shkozet because I was getting fuel there. Festim Qoli managed this gas station with Fatmira. Festimi had bought it from someone I don't know. He sold it to a Gëzim later. When he bought it I don't know. He borrowed money from Loshi. Kujtim Hasa was the manager.

At first, the brother bought it alone. Then they got married, with Ervis Deda (Loshi) for two daughters. They lived a promiscuous life.

The reason for Loshi's marriage was that the student was in love. Loshi asked Festimi for the money he had borrowed, and Festimi said he would give it to him when he found it.

Loshi told me that he had to give me the money for the fuel. I don't know how much money was. I didn't want to know at all. Festimi didn't tell me, I didn't have that kind of relationship with Festimi. I don't know who killed him. Just people's gossip. Loshi stole drugs, they say. Some others said there was gold in the car or drugs. I don't live in a closed house, prosecutor, I live in Durrës. We hear things, everyone says something. The drug story started being talked about before Mond Çekici was killed. I have respect, he came to my house for iftar.

It must have been 14 years since he was killed. I saw him on TV subtitles. They had taken out his photo. I was worried about my brother. I went to the gas station, I couldn't find him at the gas station. I found the workers. I met my brother after 3 weeks. I went to comfort him after seven. I don't know where he was. He wasn't with his parents. I didn't care where he was. He doesn't have close friends in Durrës. Festimi took the property to Fatmira, as co-owner, because Fatmira had declared to the police that Festimi had killed Ervis. Festimi told me this later.

When we went to comfort my father, Fatmira said I'm sorry for accusing Festim of being shocked. It was me, Agron, my father, my mother. Festim was wanted by the police. My father told Fatmira, there's nothing to do, it's enough to find out who killed him. I found out that he had told the police, do you know how many police friends I have, prosecutor?

-Did you ask Festim why Fatmira accused you?

Petrit Qoli: He told me he suspects it's because we've caught a cold. After Festimi sent him the contract, he said Fatmira calmed down. She's miserable. May God have mercy on her.

-How did you find out that Ervis was killed?

Petrit Qoli: People told me.

-Which people? How many people?

Petrit Qoli: My brother told me, Celebration.

-Who killed Fatmira Habilaj?

Petrit Qoli: I didn't go to the funeral. I didn't go out of shame for the captain, Besnik, her brother.

I know that the killer broke in and took valuables. I heard about it in the media. He was killed in the garage where his house was. The car was black, I don't remember the make, it had a new hood, his son had bought it for him.

I have offices in the building where he was killed. I was with my family. I was driving in Përrenjas, I was fleeing to Pogradec. My cousin told me on the phone that they had killed Ervis' mother, the police were looking for Festim. I told him what I needed with Festim.

I met Festim later. I don't remember how long later. After her son's death, Fatmira would occasionally go to the gas station to pay those bills.

-Talo Çela was a familiar name to you in 2012–2013?

Petrit Qoli: I don't know him, I've never spoken to him on the phone. I don't know any of Nuredin Dumani's enemies.
