The 37-year-old Albanian in Britain, who tried to kill himself about a week ago, died in hospital yesterday.
According to "The Guardian", which cites sources from the Home Office, three investigations have been launched into the death of the young Albanian.
The young man, who died in hospital yesterday, had tried to kill himself a week earlier at the Brook House immigration removal center near Gatwick Airport and was then taken to East Surrey Hospital, where he remained in intensive care.
Meanwhile, today the Home Office confirmed the death of the 37-year-old. The police, the coroner and the prison and probation ombudsman have started investigations.
We recall that a protest was organized at Brook House, mainly by Albanians after the 37-year-old's attempt to kill himself and the suicide attempt of a second Albanian.
An Albanian present at the protest said the two people who had attempted to kill themselves feared for their safety because of imminent plans to return them to Albania.
"One of them told me that he thought it would be better to die in the United Kingdom than to return to Albania. Our treatment in detention is not good. We are not animals; we are people", he said.
