The court has left Esmerald Balla in prison, who killed and threw his father into the well.
The court of Durrës has decided the security measure "Arrest with prison" for Esmerald Balla, who killed his father Enver Balla in Shënavlash.
The same measure was imposed on Edison Brahaj, the author's friend, who helped the latter hide the victim's body.
The 34-year-old appeared calm in the court session, while with his head down he expressed that he regretted. During the session, Esmerald Balla admitted the crime, which she stated that she committed under conditions of shock.
"I did it in self-defense and there is no going back, I regret what I did", said Esmerald Balla.
While 25-year-old Edison Brahaj had contradictory evidence. He declared to the police through his defense lawyer that he was raped in order to accept his cooperation.
But, when asked by the judge today, the young man rejected the version of violence and also of complicity in the murder.
The serious event is suspected to have happened at the beginning of August, specifically on August 11, where after an argument with his father about the money saved (75 thousand euros) near their farm, the young man shot the 62-year-old with a gun, killing him. left dead on the spot. He threw the crime weapon into a canal, while the father's body was transported and thrown into a well in a field of this village, about 1 kilometer away from the scene.
Two days later, on August 13, the 30-year-old reported to the Durrës Police Station that since the morning of the same date, his father had left the apartment with a citizen unknown to him, and after that moment, the 30-year-old had cut off contact with his father and could no longer connect with him.
Also, Esmerald Balla has stated that she suspected that this citizen could have killed his father and that the 62-year-old had no reason to leave the apartment. The other son of the victim, after being informed that his father had left the apartment, returned from Italy and reported to the police that he received a message on the social network "Instagram" from a citizen unknown to him. In the message, it was said that the family members should not look for the 62-year-old, as he had left on vacation. The investigative structures of DVP Durrës, being in front of these facts, have intensified investigations and searches, as suspicions arose that we were dealing with a crime within the family.
As a result of intensive actions, it became possible to unravel the incident, catch and arrest the victim's son, who has admitted the authorship of this crime. The police also announced that they have arrested another person in connection with the serious incident. A 25-year-old identified as Edison Brahaj, who allegedly helped the 30-year-old to transport his father's dead body, was put in handcuffs. During the search of Brahaj's apartment, an amount of 145,000 ALL was found and seized.
