A serious incident shook Elbasan yesterday, where Edmond Hyka alias Mondi Mëhalla was found dead.
According to information, the 43-year-old was in his car when he was shot by unidentified individuals.
In the footage published by the media, the tragic moment is seen when the victim's family members arrive at the scene.
The assassination appears to have been well-organized, as the assailants fled after being convinced that the person they were targeting had died. Several people were escorted to the police station to provide details about the incident.
In a reaction to the media, the police emphasize that the murder occurred in the "Emin Matraxhiu" neighborhood and are investigating the perpetrators and motives of the incident. "Around 20:35, a report was received that in the "Emin Matraxhiu" neighborhood, inside a parked vehicle, citizen MM alias EH, 43 years old, was found, killed with a gunshot wound.
Police services immediately went to the scene and checkpoints were set up at the exit of the city, and checks are continuing in the area and in various locations, to catch the perpetrator(s).
Meanwhile, a special investigative group has been established, which, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is working intensively to clarify the circumstances, legal documentation, as well as to identify and capture the perpetrator(s), the police announced.
