
The police have officially reacted after the arrest of Gjovalin Shkambi, the uncle of Elvis Shkambi, after he publicly threatened to kill the judge who would sentence his nephew.
The 49-year-old publicly declared that the judge who would sentence his nephew would face the same fate as Astrit Kalaja, who was killed in the courtroom yesterday.
"Those who will condemn him will face the same thing. Those who will condemn the nephew will face bullets, because for 13 years we have been writing to the prime minister and the entire government to give us the property because we bought it. The judge who will condemn him has the same reward, we gave him the evidence," said Gjovalin Shkambi.
Police say that after escorting him with the support of the Eagle forces, the arrest was made and the materials will be referred to the Prosecutor's Office for the criminal offenses of "Threat to a judge" and "Threat to commit acts with terrorist intent."
How the incident happened:
Elvis Shkambi entered the courtroom yesterday and shot three times at judge Astrit Kalaja after he made a decision against his uncle Gjon Shkambi. The police, in an official statement, said that the detector had given a signal for the presence of metal when the nephew and uncle entered the court, but that security guard Banush Koxhaj, who was also handcuffed, had not taken any action.
Also, according to the police, Gjon Shkambi is suspected of being aware of the actions his nephew intended and of not stopping him. The 56-year-old is charged with the murder of public officials committed in collaboration as well as attempted murder in other qualifying circumstances. In addition to these two charges as an uncle, the author is also charged with illegal possession of weapons.
"And threatening statements, in the media, against representatives of the judicial system, put the 49-year-old in handcuffs.
Immediately after the threatening statements made in the media by citizen Gj. Sh., 49 years old, the Serious Crimes Sector, in cooperation with the services of the Shkodra Regional Anti-Terror Unit and with the support of the services of the Shkodra DVP Special Force "Eagle", arrested and escorted the 49-year-old to the Police Station.
Following the procedural actions, led by the Shkodra Prosecutor's Office, the arrest in flagrante delicto of citizen Gj. Sh., 49 years old, resident of Shkodra, was made.
The procedural materials will be referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Shkodra, for further action, for the criminal offenses "Threat to a judge" and "Threat to commit acts with terrorist intent" , the police announced.
