As he refused to carry out Laert Haxhiu's order to kill Lushnja gang member Rexhep Gina in June 2021, 6 months later in December 2021, Artan Tafani received another order to commit a murder in Peq.
It is about the elimination of Albi Bashali, who was the brother of Leonard Bashali, who in 2021 shot and killed 44-year-old Albert Xhahysa, owner of a "Cable TV" studio in Pajovo, Peqin. Leonard Bashaliu pleaded guilty to this murder and was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
Before the investigation team, Tafani admitted that 50,000 euros were paid for this murder and that they received the payment through Lorenc Lala alias "Lilit".
"...I received 20,000 euros, "Luli" received 20,000 euros and Laerti 10,000 euros. Payment is made in installments. Laerti's father once gave us 10,000 euros and told us that he had given this amount of money to "Lili". And Luli went and took the rest several times to a car wash located at "Delijorgji" in Tirana. Payments for events at this car wash were usually left, and as far as I know, this car wash is owned by a person from Lushnja. Payments are left with the guard or any employee of the car wash. "Lili" had told Laerti that he himself gave the money from his own pocket because the sons of Ylber Xhahysa had no finances, even though they had enmity with the Bashaliu family..." - affirmed Tafani.
For Bashali's murder, Lulzim Arapi went to Pogradec and bought a "TT" type pistol from Bledar Berberi, while the group used two "Audi" type vehicles that were taken from Ligor Romančka alias "Goles" and a black Benz with Greek license plate that belonged to Mario Diamant, who on November 16, 2021 was shot dead in Greece.
Mario Diamanti is the cousin of "Xino" Juxhin Bajrami, the person who was caught with Laert Haxhiu in Janina, recently.
"...around December 2021, Laert Haxhiu tells me that he received an order from citizen Ilirjan (Lorenc) Lala, who lives in Lushnja and is called "Lili", that a murder was to be committed in Peqin. "Lili" had ordered this murder because as far as I know, Lili is the cousin of two boys from Pekin, whose father was killed in Pekin the same year, surnamed Xhahysa, and they wanted his murder for revenge..."- Artan Tafani told the prosecution.
In order to implement this murder, 10 days before committing the crime, Artan Tafani went to Peqin with a car he had rented and met Enriko Xhahysa, who according to Tafani was a short and handsome man.
Enriko Xhahysa got into Artan Tafani's car and lay down in the back of the car. Xhahysa told Tafan in the car that the brother of the person who was going to be killed had killed his father a few months ago and had a lot of grudge against him.
Furthermore, Enriko Xhahysa confirmed the house of the person who was going to be killed, the streets he passed and the places he frequented.
"...we stayed together for a few minutes and then I left her where I took her and ran away to Lushnja. Laerti showed me the person I was going to kill in a video, which was sent to him by "Lili", and I remember that the person who was going to be killed had the last name "Bashaliu". Enriko informed "Lili" about the movements of Bashali (the victim) who then I found out that he had given information to "Lili" that recently Albi Bashaliu was going to the same bar, which he also showed me the day I met him and we could do the killing there. Also, Laerti told me that Bashaliu had a white "Volkswagen Caddy" car, he also gave me the license plates, but I don't remember them at the moment..." Artan Tafani told the prosecution.
The hired killer went to Peqin on December 26, 2021 in the afternoon after planning to commit the murder that night. Lulzim Arapi took him to Peq, with a gray Benz with Greek license plates that Laerti had brought him. He, Tafani, waited several hours but did not see Albin leave or enter the house. That's why he decided to leave and not kill Albi Bashali that night, returning to Tirana.
"... that night I spoke with Laertes, because he was upset that the murder was not done. Enriko, he told me the day we met at one of the bars where Albi drank coffee, which was the bar where the murder took place. Therefore, it was decided that the murder would be carried out on the morning of December 27, 2021, and we would wait for him at that bar. At dinner, after returning from Beijing, I went with Laert Haxhiu and Luli to a parking lot in "Astir" and there we had an "Audi" vehicle that we had for an event. As Laerti told me, this car was provided to him by Ligor Romacka, or as they call him in Korça, with the nickname "Golja". We decided that in order to commit the murder, we would go to Peqin in this "Audi". But when we were at dinner in the parking lot, the "Audi" was not turning on and we stayed until 1 o'clock in the morning trying to turn it on. We put cables on the car and then it turned on..." - asserted Artan Tafani.
When they left for Peqin, they took two guns with them, Tafani had a "Miniblow" 22 caliber pistol and another "TT" type gun that "Luli" had bought from Bledar Berber in Pogradec, a few days before the incident.
“...bashkë me Lulin, në 27 dhjetor 2021 kemi arritur në Peqin rreth orës 04:00 të mëngjesit. Kemi parkuar afër lokalit ku u bë vrasja dhe kemi pritur aty. Ditën e ngjarjes unë kam pasur veshur tuta sportive të zeza, një triko gri me kapuç dhe një jelek të zi pa mëngë, kisha edhe maskë “Covid-19”. Jeleku i zi është i njëjti jelek që kam veshur në ngjarjen e 16 tetorit 2021 në Lushnjë, kur vramë Elton Mermalin. E mbaja këtë jelek sepse kishte shumë xhepa mbrapa dhe ishte praktik për të futur gjëra. Kurse Luli kishte veshur xhinse dhe një xhup në ngjyrë mjalti të errët. Siç thashë kemi pritur pranë lokalit, brenda makinës derisa erdhi Albi Bashaliu në mëngjes rreth orës 08:00, i cili erdhi me automjet “Volkswagen Caddy” të bardhë. Pritëm sa Albi parkoi makinën e tij dhe në momentin që ai doli, unë kam dalë nga makina dhe me armën “TT” i kam gjuajtur 6 herë. Mesa kujtoj sepse aq fishekë kishte arma. Dy të parat ia gjuajta në gjoks, dy nga pas kur po kthehej mbrapsht dhe dy të tjerat po nga pas, pasi ishte rrëzuar në tokë...”-rrëfen Artan Tafani.
Pasi e qëlluan dhe Albi Bashaliu është shembur i pajetë në tokë, Lulzim Arapi, ka tentuar të ndezi makinën “Audi”, por mjeti nuk ndizej.
“...Luli më tha që nuk ndizet dhe unë i thashë ta digjte aty...”-tregon Tafani.
Ata kishin marrë dy bidona me benzinë dhe njëri nga bidonat e përdorën, për të djegur “Audin”. Gjatë vënies së zjarrit, “Lulit” i është djegur xhupi. Ndërsa Tafani, ka shkuar tek trupi i pajetë i Albi Bashaliut, dhe i ka marrë çelësat e makinës “Caddy” me të cilën ai erdhi dhe çelësat i mbante në dorë.
“...në fillim i kontrollova rrobat për çelësat, por s'i gjeta dhe pastaj pashë që i kishte në dorë. Plani ishte që Luli, do ndizte “Audin” dhe do e ngisja unë sepse “Luli” nuk i jep shumë mirë makinës por duke qenë se “Audi” nuk u ndez, pasi mora çelësat e “Caddyt” unë hipa si shofer dhe “Luli” si pasagjer dhe u larguam me “Caddyn”. Kur po merrja çelësat nga dora e viktimës, mbaj mend që nga lokali ka dalë një burrë se nga po shikonte dhe atij i kam bërtitur duke i thënë: "...Hyr brenda se të q***a robt..."-ka pohuar Tafani.
Ai ka hyrë brenda në ambientet e lokalit, duke i kërcënuar të gjithë të pranishmit me armë dhe më pas i ka shtrirë për tokë.
Ndërsa janë larguar me shpejtësi me “Cadyn” e viktimës, ata kanë shkuar tek vendi ku kishin lënë makinën tip “Benz Mercedez” në Vilë-Boshtovë. Në fillim Tafani ka çuar “Lulin” te vendi, ku ishte makina Benz dhe më pas i vetëm ka shkuar duke fshehur “Caddyn” e Albi Bashaliut, tek një vend në “Vilë-Bashtovë”, aty ku dhe e gjeti Policia makinën të padjegur.

After committing the murder, Lulzim Arapi announced through the "Encro Chat" application to Laert Haxhiu that we had finished work.
