A conflict between two people in Shkodra ended with the injury of a 45-year-old man in the leg. The injured person, Genc Hoxha, and Izvin Gucija, the suspected perpetrator of the shooting, have given different testimonies to the Shkodra Local Police.
According to Gucia's statement, the conflict was related to a service requested at his service. Hoxha had gone to repair the steering wheel assembly of the vehicle. The owner of the service explained that he did not have a new part, but only a used one. After checking the car, he had received 10 thousand old lek for the technical verification.
Gucija explained that after this moment an argument broke out between them. He claims that Hoxha had insulted him, while he himself had avoided escalating the conflict because he was fasting.
According to his testimony, a day later the two met again in an alley near the service station. Gucija claims that during the confrontation Hoxha had insulted him again and had attempted to hit him with hard objects. In these circumstances, he pulled out a pistol and shot him in the leg, stating that he had acted in self-defense and without intent to kill.
On the other hand, Genc Hoxha has denied these allegations. He stated that he did not cause a conflict and that the meeting was explanatory in nature. According to him, the owner of the service pulled out a gun and shot at him without provocation.
Police found a shell casing at the scene that is suspected to belong to the weapon used. Authorities also seized the pistol, which the suspect surrendered after his arrest, which occurred minutes after the incident near his apartment.
The investigation team continues its work to determine the full circumstances and responsibilities of the incident.
