The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime presented to the court how it identified the persons who used codes on the encrypted platform Sky ECC in the trial against Plaurent Dervishaj and Julian Meçe. Both face charges of involvement in the organization and financing of the assassination attempt on former prosecutor Arjan Ndoja and Aleksandër Lahos.
Prosecutors explained that investigators analyzed communications conducted on the app, photos sent, and personal data that users exchanged during conversations. From this analysis, they linked profiles used on the platform to specific individuals.
According to the prosecution, some users used pseudonyms related to their names. In other cases, identification was made through personal information that the users themselves shared in conversations.
In the case of Plaurent Dervishaj, investigators found a photo sent in communications requesting the closure of an email address. The same conversations also included family information, such as children's names and dates of birth. Verifications showed that this information belongs to Dervishaj.
Investigators used a similar method to identify Julian Meçe. Photographs and data were shared in the communications that allowed authorities to link the profile used on Sky ECC to his identity.
The prosecution announced that in some cases users have self-identified during conversations by providing data that directly leads to their identity.
Another identification is related to the phone number of Redjan Rraja's lawyer. A photo was sent in the communications showing the phone number. After verification, investigators found a memo prepared by the lawyer, which helped identify Ramazan Rraja.
