Two State Police employees have been suspended from duty in connection with the serious incident that occurred on March 10, 2026 in Bulqiza, where three citizens were seriously injured.
The Police Supervision Agency announced that it has executed the order of the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Dibër, which has imposed on two officers the personal security measures of "suspension of the exercise of a public duty or service" and "ban on leaving the country".
According to the AMP, the two police officers are suspected of the criminal offense of "abuse of office".
Those suspended are the inspector with the initials DS, assigned to the Urban and Interurban Traffic Service Corps at the Dibër Local Police Directorate, as well as another inspector with the initials DS, assigned to the Public Order Service Corps at the Bulqiza Police Commissariat, also at the Dibër DVP.
According to preliminary data from the investigation, the imposition of security measures is related to the failure of these employees to fulfill their functional duties, contrary to the provisions of the law "On the State Police", in relation to the incident where three people were injured.
The Police Supervision Agency emphasizes that investigations are continuing to fully document the circumstances of the incident, as well as to verify the possible involvement of other employees.
