A 27-year-old man was arrested by the police after, together with 4 others, he tried to kill a young man in Korça. The event happened on June 19. A 51-year-old man who helped them was also arrested.
The citizens, Andrea Diamandi and Idlir Spaho, have been arrested, while 2 others, who hid material evidence of the crime, were prosecuted.
The police clarifies that the 27-year-old, "Andrea Diamandi, on June 19 on the "Korçë-Voskop" road axis, in cooperation with SS citizens, 25 years old, SS, 33 years old, Dh. D., 33 years old, and MB, 39 years old, residents of Korça, with the vehicle "Rang Rover" crashed into the vehicle with driver MJ, 18 years old, whom they allegedly tried to kill by hitting him with strong tools apparently a firearm, which did not fire".
While 51-year-old Idlir Spaho is suspected of having supported the 27-year-old with whom he has a social relationship.
From the control exercised in Spaho's apartment in neighborhood no. 4, Korçë, 1 automatic firearm and 1 comb with 30 cartridges were found and seized as material evidence.
"The 27-year-old wanted man, in connection with the event that happened on 19.06.2024, where in cooperation with 4 other citizens tried to kill the citizen MJ, was arrested and put in handcuffs
Another citizen was arrested in the act, who supported the 27-year-old and possessed a firearm with ammunition in the apartment.
2 others, who hid material evidence of the commission of the crime, are being prosecuted.
1 automatic firearm and ammunition were seized.
Korçë Police Station, in implementation of the measures of the operational plan "Rule of Law", for the capture of wanted persons and following the investigative work for the complete documentation of the event that happened on 19.06.2024, in neighborhood no. 17, Korçë, based on the information provided by the police intelligence, on the location of one of the citizens announced in relation to this event, have intensified the controls for his capture and bringing him to legal responsibility.
As a result of these structures in cooperation with the Special Force "Shqiponja" of DVP Korçë, the wanted citizen was arrested and detained:
- AD, 27 years old, resident of Korçë, after on 19.06.2024, on the "Korçë-Voskop" road axis, in cooperation with citizens SS, 25 years old, SS, 33 years old, Dh. D., 33 years old, and MB, 39 years old, residents of Korça, with the vehicle "Rang Rover" crashed into the vehicle with driver MJ, 18 years old, whom they allegedly tried to kill by hitting him with strong tools apparently a firearm, which did not fire.
Following the actions taken in relation to this event, the following citizen was arrested in the act:
- IS, 51 years old, a resident of Korça, as this citizen is suspected of having supported the 27-year-old AD, with whom he has social ties. From the control exercised in the residence of citizen ID, in neighborhood no. 4, Korçë, 1 automatic firearm and 1 comb with 30 cartridges were found and seized as material evidence.
It is also from these structures that the criminal proceedings began for the citizens VD, 62 years old and RS, 44 years old, residents of Korça, as it is suspected that these citizens helped the perpetrators of the event to hide the material evidence that served to commit the crime.
Efforts are being made to arrest and bring to justice the other citizens involved in this event.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Korçë," the police announced.
