Three people were arrested in Spain for cocaine trafficking after a joint operation by the Mossos d'Esquadra and local police.
A coordinated operation in the parking lot of a supermarket led to the arrest of three Albanians aged 20 to 46 and the seizure of 16 kilograms of cocaine divided into 15 packages, along with 7,980 euros in cash and 18,300 lekë (Albanian currency). The arrests were carried out on September 22 in Castelldefels, during a preventive security operation.
Officers from the Urban Crime Group of Gavas (Mossos d'Esquadra) and the Urban Crime Group of the Castelldefels Local Police, discovered the transfer of packages between two parked vehicles. After several checks, they confirmed a typical drug trafficking pattern and proceeded to intervene.
Interference in a parking lot with a package transfer
Initially, police noticed two men sorting items in the trunk of a car. A few minutes later, three more people approached them carrying packages from another vehicle, which was a few meters away. The scene, consistent with an illegal transaction, prompted immediate police intervention.
During the search of the scene, officers found a suitcase containing 16 kilograms of cocaine distributed in 15 packages, as well as 7,980 euros in cash and 18,300 lek. Based on the evidence, the three suspects involved in the transportation and distribution of the goods were arrested.
Procedures and continuation of the investigation
The arrested were taken to police headquarters and brought before the court on charges of crimes against public health. The investigation is ongoing to determine the origin of the drugs, the possible involvement of other people and the supply of the distribution network.
