Mysteries are growing over the murder of Italian businessman Edoardo Sarchi, a crime that occurred in the early hours of Saturday.
The latest reported details have raised suspicions that the businessman was not shot with a firearm, even though the previous report from the State Police stated that the victim had gunshot wounds.
Forensic examination of the victim's body appears to be giving a different story.
According to reports, the victim died as a result of a severe blow to the head, which caused fatal bleeding.
This refutes the version given earlier by his partner, Eqerem Braçi, who claimed that an unknown person had opened fire on the Italian's car, and that the victim was injured while attempting to flee.
While Braçi claimed a gun attack, technical expertise found no traces of bullets in Sarch's vehicle, except for a flat tire.
This, along with the location of the fatal wound on the victim's head, has raised serious doubts about the veracity of his testimony.
Meanwhile, police have detained Gazment Braçi, the son of Eqerem Braçi, who was previously wanted. He is suspected of being present at the scene and is currently being questioned by authorities.
Based on the latest data, the main line of investigation is shifting towards a possible conflict between the partners of the brick factory that Sarchi and Braçi had in Tirana.
