44-year-old businessman Edoardo Sarchi was found murdered in the early hours of Saturday, near the village of Salari in Tepelena.
Sarchi had lived in Tirana for 20 years and owned a brick factory, and was reportedly also passionate about hunting. This is thought to be the reason the 44-year-old Italian had undertaken the journey to Tepelena, where he was found dead.
The police have launched investigations into the incident, which was shrouded in mystery for hours, due to the testimony given by one of the people at the scene.
It was initially reported that the victim had been shot from a moving vehicle. Police, in a preliminary report on the incident, said they had found the body of 44-year-old Sarchi with gunshot wounds.
But according to reports, forensic expertise has revealed another detail: the victim had a wound to the head, but not from a gunshot, while the 44-year-old died as a result of bleeding.
This expertise seems to dispel all previous suspicions that the victim was shot from another moving vehicle. And the attention of the investigative team seems to have focused precisely on the murder trail due to conflicts over the ownership of the factory, or related to it.

He attempted to provide first aid by removing the body from the vehicle and then notified the police. According to him, the perpetrator fled in the dark and has not been identified.
They had traveled to the scene in two cars, a Land Rover and a Volkswagen, which were found by police at the scene.
The businessman was in one of the vehicles at the time of the incident. Police have announced a search for Eqeremi's son, Gazmendi, who was arrested a few hours after the incident. He has been escorted to give his testimony.
Since June 2023, the 44-year-old has managed the brick and tile factory in the Lapraka area of Tirana, 'Tegola Edilcentro'.
"Around 00:30, in the village of Salari, in the place called "Dilan", the Italian citizen ES, 44 years old, resident of Tirana, was found dead on the street, suspected of being killed with a firearm.
Police services, upon receiving the notification, immediately went to the scene.
A special investigative group has been established, which, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, is working intensively to clarify the circumstances, legal documentation, as well as to identify and apprehend the perpetrator(s).
Meanwhile, the Police services, in cooperation with the Local Police Directorate of Fier and Vlora, are conducting checks in various areas and environments, to capture the perpetrator(s), the police announced.
