Belgian police checks in apartments, seizes 60 kg of cocaine in fruit juices; 9

Today, the Belgian police launched an action against drug trafficking by conducting house checks with the support of the Directorate of Special Units, in the district of Brussels, Wemmel and Keerbergen.

9 Albanians were arrested as part of a wide drug trafficking network. In 2022, the Brussels PJF was informed of suspicious activities related to the purchase and delivery of products that could be used for cocaine extraction laboratories. From the investigations, it became possible to observe exchanges of bags containing blocks of cocaine.

This criminal group mainly deals with Albanian citizens. One of the suspects already identified was known for his role in drug labs. Some protagonists were also involved in cannabis plantations. During the investigation, international cooperation enabled the Federal Judicial Police of Halle-Vilvoorde to seize a quantity of frozen fruit juice with 60 kg of cocaine mixed with it. This shipment was intended for the same criminal organization. Deciphering some means of communication confirmed the involvement of the protagonists in these activities.

Today's intervention resulted in 9 arrests. One of the suspects has already been reported to be wanted in the framework of the "ENCRO" file in Brussels, but also in the context of a British file for an assassination. At the time of his capture, he was carrying an Italian identity document allegedly obtained through fraud.

It is about the 32-year-old Albanian Daniel K., who is one of the 128 suspects currently being tried before the criminal court of Brussels, in the biggest drug trial ever held in Belgium.
