The Dutch police have arrested a 45-year-old Albanian sentenced in Italy to 30 years in prison for drug trafficking.
The events for which the Albanian is accused occurred between 2001-2003 and are related to the trafficking of heroin from Albania to Italy.
In 2003, 14 kg of heroin were seized in Empoli, Italy. The 45-year-old is considered the organizer of this transport case.
For years he had been hiding in the Netherlands under a false identity and was discovered after investigations by FAST Holland.
He will appear at the Amsterdam Court which will decide on his extradition to Italy.
