Over 250,000 euros have been seized in the Port of Durrës.
The police announced that they have handcuffed Muhamed Hoxha, 58 years old, the driver of a van where he hid the money. Also, the police said that they have also seized medicines that were entering our country without declaring them.
"As a result of the coded police operation "Flux 4", carried out by the Border Police services, in cooperation with the customs authorities, the citizen Muhamed Hoxha, 58 years old, resident of neighborhood no. 13, Durrës, who came from Italy and had hidden his vehicle, 251,295 euros and medications, with the aim of bringing them into Albania, without declaring them according to the laws in force", announced the police .
The amount of money and medications were seized as material evidence. Investigations for the legal documentation of this case continue.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the Durrës General Jurisdiction, for further actions, for the criminal offenses "Failure to declare cash and valuables at the border", "Cleaning the proceeds of a criminal offense or criminal activity" and "Smuggling with licensed goods"
