New details have been revealed regarding the 522 thousand euros found in the Port of Durrës.
A total of 522,000 euros, with different denominations of 10, 20, 50 and 100 euros divided into 6 plastic bags, were hidden on the roof of the van, near the air conditioning plant.
The van of the line Padova - Lushnjë with license plate AA 633 FZ, came to the Port of Durrës from Bari, Italy.
As part of the operation 'Eurot', which was undertaken on October 21, 2022, Elidon Çela and 2 of his associates were arrested, DK, 36 years old, resident in Tirana and AC, 32 years old, resident in Elbasan, specifically the assistant and bus driver.
Elidon Çela is the owner of the international passenger transport agency "Buon Aventura" with headquarters in Lushnje and Padua.
Çela was not an unknown name to the police because he had been caught transporting undeclared money before, but in smaller amounts, and he had been caught several times bringing stolen goods to Albania.
Smuggled goods were also found in the van (coffee, cigarettes, alcoholic beverages, medicines, boxes with hinges, baby carriages, electrical appliances and clothes).
