
A large arsenal of weapons has been seized by the Greek police in Athens, after checking 3 apartments and 2 basements.
5 people were arrested by the police, part of the criminal group that allegedly trafficked and sold weapons and explosives.
The arrested are 4 Greek citizens aged 31-56, as well as 25-year-old Zoi Zoto, originally from Korça, but born in Piraeus.
During the police checks, 25 pieces of military explosives, 60 kg of ammonium, 4 explosives, 7 flame resistance coils, 2 detonators, 5925 cartridges of different calibers mainly for military use, 2 guns, 1 automatic weapon, 6 revolvers were found and seized. , 5 pistols, 1 pair, 1 single carbine, 38 combs of various calibers, 3 silencers, 1 bulletproof vest, 1 sword, 3 knives, weapon parts, 530 narcotic tablets, metal detectors.
Also found were 57 gold coins, 510 English pounds worth over 420,000 euros, 2 pounds sterling, 2 English pounds, 35 British half pounds, 5 ancient Greek silver coins, 6 antique coins, 200 different jewelry, 23,320 euros , coins worth 2 euros each, 11 cell phones, 2 laptops, laser engraving machine for weapons, GPS tracker, hand notes and other items.
The Greek police suspect that this criminal group also supplied members of criminal groups that committed murders in Greece, as among those arrested is a citizen, whose fingerprints were found on weapons seized in a "Jeep" vehicle in Neo Kosmo, vehicle which would be used to kill the Greek mobster Vaggeli Zampouni.
